1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Post Office (Transfer of Undertaking) Act.2. Interpretation
In this Act—"Company" means the Mauritius Post Limited, incorporated and registered under the Companies Act;"Minister" means the Minister to whom responsibility for the subject of postal services is assigned;"Post Office Department" means the Post Office Department referred to in section 3 of the repealed Post Office Act, or Government in relation to the Post Office Department;"staff" means all persons appointed to serve the Post Office Department.3. ***
4. Pending proceedings
Any action, arbitration proceedings or cause of action relating to the undertaking mentioned in section 3 which immediately before 1 March 2004 may be pending or in process against or in favour of the Post Office Department, or to which the Post Office Department is a party may be continued and enforced by, against or in favour of the Company.5. Evidence
Any document, matter or thing which if the Act had not been passed would have been admissible in evidence in respect of any matter for or against the Post Office Department shall, on or after 1 March 2004 be admissible in evidence in respect of the same matter for or against the Company.6.
